Waze or Google maps?
on: December 07, 2014, 10:29:40 AM
Sorry for being primitive :D. Gone were the days when you'll stop
at the street  corner and ask someone where can I find this house
no. or street or hi-way. Saving time, fuel and effort, I was really amazed
of the technology today.
Google maps for me. :tu:

Google maps is handy if you have a data connection, I have Copilot (copilotgps.com) on my phone which has maps so I don't need my data connection, on the downside it eats up a chunk of my phone storage.
The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.

Google map, totally.

It has guided me in many different countries around globe without fail, the navigation AI beats most on car GPS by miles.  The only downside is if you don't have a good data plan, the cost build up greatly when you are using it oversea.

Waze is good for seeing if there are any cop/speed traps on your way.

For quick glancing at map though google map is faster. The newer versions are still crap as far as offline map goes though, version 6 was the epitome of functionality and I still have it installed over 7/8.

Never use navigation so can't speak about that.

Usually I use RT, he's really good at navigating me around... :D
I seldom use the pre installed map thingy on my iPhone.

I use google maps for getting a rough idea on journey times so I have a vague clue how long the trip is going to take and what the destination looks like.

Up until Tuesday last week I used waze instead of the satnav in my car, mainly because it would warn me about congestion. The new car does that for me and reroutes very well. To any one in the South of England I had to go the Kent this morning and the car got me round the disasters on the M25 and surrounding roads  :salute:

OsmAnd+. The OpenStreetMap project's great killer feature, even if you don't participate with traces: You can use the maps offline.

Google Maps! Having GPS overlay, as well as company reviews right there on hand means a world of difference.
