Most unusual knife I own is what's know as a Swedish Barrel knife. Most folks have no idea how to open it without being shown. Not my pic, but shows the knife well:(Image removed from quote.)
I always had a liking for the old Christy knife. Blade slides up out of the handle and locks in a couple different lengths. Maybe the first one handed knife made in the U.S. way back in the 1930's. Small company, family owned and just hanging on these days. The Christy knife was sold in the Navy exchanges and army PX's and actually saw a good amount of service in WW2. The one here is badly worn, about 40 years old, and was my dad's. He was a big fan of these knives, and in his later years when he had some bad arthritis, it was his only pocket knife when he retired his little Case peanut. Earl Christy has passed away, but his son Hal is now running the company, trying to keep it going. They are not a hevy duty knife, but extremely handy for a light duty pen knife kind of thing.

Didn't knew about this one, added to the Want list.
I used to wear a "Handy Twine Cutter" on my right ring finger when I worked shipping to cut the twine we bound pallets with before they went to the stretch wrap machine.
That's an interesting concept. With my Elfin Safety hat on though, doesn't having the lock release where it is make it prone to closing unexpectedly?
Cool. I guess it should be taken for granted that the system would be a safe one
