It looks different and according to the inventor who took it cross country very usefull  :D
Been drooling about it to I wonder if its worth the 200+ bucks you have to spend. as for the finger ring you could maybe cut it out, most of them are customized anyways.
Hope somebody here buy it 1st for the review  :D

i noticed it was made from used circulaw saw blade, the first one.and i happen to know about 40 of that kind just lying around in certain place,hmm....ive done knifes outta leaf springs and real blade stells and it neher occured to my mind that really u could make em too from saw blades,as ive done some from old large files.and right now im forging two big blades, one for me and one to another mt.org member.

Nice mikko, I have a leaf spring sword I has someone made but the metal is too soft for my liking how can I harden it myself, is it just by heating till its red hot then puting it in water?

That depends on the steel mate, as there's 3 main types of quenching, air, water, and oil :), so if you can find out what type of steel it is, I'll try and find out out how you can re-temper it :)

yes u propably can use acetylene torch with large nozzle but u gotta move it pretty fast so the temperature could be even, and if u heat it till its red and drop it in water,man....u go wrong,it´ll be like glass, and gan break immediately apart from even slightes hit,if u drop it accidentally on flor, itll blow up in many parts.you should first do the red hot thing and then sunk it in oil rather than water, any used motor oil will do the trick.AND after that polish the blade abit since at next step youll have to be able to see the coulour of blade.then u heat it till its something between gold and yellow and dip it in oil.at that point the blade should be something between 50 to 60 hrc.and that would be atleast better than any soft or too hard.many knives and wood carving tools are in hardness area 50-60 hrc.you should do all the pre polishing, engraving etc if u want to do them, before any tampering,if you dont have really good metal crafting tools cause the tampered steel is so much harder to craft.

if any of this makes sense,or even helps you,im happy.

Looks nice :), but a total ergonomic nightmare me thinks ::)

I've seen these at gun shows but never got to handle one.

I suspect the ergonomics might be great if you have the "right" size hand to fit the handle, and not so great if you have either bigger or smaller hands.

These do have a devoted following of people who claim they're the greatest outdoors knives ever made.

Don't handle much knives but ergonomics looks okay to me but I maybe wrong.
You are right about the following some people pay a lot for some collectable one's, expensive for a knife some say are made from log saw.

lets compare burn marks after

One of my brothers got one of the worst burns I've ever seen when he removed the metal from the oil or water after quenching. He thought it would be cooled off and grabed it with his bare hand. He was about 12 or 13 at the time.
