New to forum - New Enlgand area
on: February 03, 2015, 08:04:23 PM
Hey everyone. Been lurking a few weeks now, decided i saw enough info and dove into the world of multitools, EDC, GHB, and aluminum foil hats enough to register and share/compare/ get additional ideas. SO:

First MT was a Gerber something er other when I was a fleet Marine. Slide out pliers, heavy duty. decent tool. I have zero clue where that thing ended up. haha
Went without a carry for over a decade!!! Finally, got my hands on the goods.
My first LM.. NEW SURGE! I love that friggin thing! It's a tank! Got hooked right away. Needed some bits and odds ends and hopped onto ebay. Got myself and my dad a LM Sidekick each. Projects coming, keep a lookout. I'm going to fire them off fast and furious! haha

The Surge will remain mostly untouched until i complete my other projects. I'm thinking in the next week or two i should have at least one or two near complete. I don't want to give away details in my intro thread! But, some of the things i have my hands on:

Charge Bodies, Wave Bodies, Sidekick, s30v blades, bit holders, internal components, etc. ;)

Hmmm...
S30V blade, can opener, large bit driver, small bit driver, large screwdriver?, scissors.
What's going opposite the blade and are you putting the pocket clip on?

Wow, holy cheese whiz. I was thinking of making it a little more 'hidden' but thought "who would be able to identify all this anyways". Well, now i know!
I have to source some clips and a few other things I need. I am only recently able to get into this stuff thanks to someone i met online (actually has an account here as well) that unloaded a lot of gear i was asking for!

I'd love to get my hands on 3-4 pocket clips, Probably order from Amazon, i think the set (clip+lanyard ring) is like 6 bucks.
I might try to find another full wave so i can duplicate a few parts. and i need some Charge scales to also duplicate.

If there are any posts for charge/wave that people are looking to get rid of...I might end up having to find my own solution to that issue.

OK. so I will have to post some pictures tonight. But the sidekick I was soing to make PLSK...Changed my mind. I actually like carrying the light duty full featured tool! But, it's modded...Of course it it :)

The surge got a very minor upgrade replacing the small screwdriver for the micro-driver bit holder.

I found some sweet items on 'bay....So hopefully i can make a few things pan out.
Example- I found the sets of charge scales I was looking for for the bodies i have. slowly but surely, this WILL work. haha.

I still need to source posts/screws (I 'may' have a custom solution for this, but it is still in the works).

So as my previous post described, I won a new Rebar in 'bay auction, as well as getting a little ahead of myself wanting a WAVE. Well, I bid and won....But the photos are of a SuperTool 300 not a Wave.  So i may have just scored some random luckiness! Unlucky once the Queen finds out... :twak:

I saw a forum about the sidekick at HD for 9bucks. going to try to check out a couple locals and see if they have them.
