Where to start, other than to say thankfully this got nipped before it started. My issue is the Government stating this was not an act of terrorism, or linked to terrorism. I suppose that can be true as it never got off the ground...but to state that it wasn't...well...is the definition of terrorism changing to reflect a purely Muslim society?

The Merriam Webster Dictionary states that terrorism is the use of violent acts to frighten the people in an area as a way of trying to achieve a political goal.

Am I missing something here?  :think:

no,  you are not missing anything,  they are intentionally altering their classification of the plot for their own agenda (mitigate fear, avoid backlash from a religion, etc)  that is my take on it anyway

Let's be careful that this doesn't get politically charged.

As someone "on the ground" per se I have some thoughts and feelings regarding this.  It also wasn't long ago that there were reports of armed men in the downtown area, causing my wife's office building being placed under lockdown.

I would imagine these idiots were more interested in some Columbine type "fame" than any political goal, agenda or statement.

I assume that they meant they had no direct links to KNOWN terrorist organisations.

Seriously, my friends, what is happening to Canada? It had a reputation of a peaceful, quiet, polite place until a couple of years ago.

Is there more trouble or is the trouble being made public more than it used to?

No, there is no more trouble in Canada than before. It just seems everyone is looking at things with terrorism tinted glasses...including myself I guess.
