Is the EO1 supposed to be so blue?

I recently bought myself an E01, and while I love it's output, it's rather on the blue side. Is this normal, (what you pay is what you get) or is mine defective?

I have one too, gaftapegreenia. It's light is really bluish in color.

it's the nature of the beast! they say it's not so bad outdoors
in use

mine is purple/blue!

some of the early ones (the black and olive ones) had better, whiter tint.
some are better than others.

I got lucky. The very center of mine is slightly blue, but the spill is warm white/yellow.

It's all in the luck of the draw with Nichia LEDs.

Yikes! I am expecting my E01 to arrive any day and am a little worried now.

My understanding was that while there was some randomness regarding the tint of the LEDs, the classic blue cast was extremely subtle with the E01.

I don't mind a very slight blue cast to the white, but I will be very disappointed if I turn on my brand new E01 and it looks like the type of cheap blue light you find in dollar store knock offs...

but it's not cheap (inexpensive yes) because the cheap lights you get at the dollar store
are not as rugged as the EO1 nor will the light last nearly as long.
