Perfect rust preventative for free

If you take supplements like I do (fish oil in my case), you get these things in the bottle:

http://3.imimg.com/data3/QJ/MN/MY-1029984/canister-silica-gel-ap-sorb-500x500.jpg

Don't eat them! (Usually says that on the side. I have no idea what kind of doltish, plastic craving, microcephalic mouth breather would chew on one of these, but there you are.)

Don't throw them in the bin!

Save them! Save the silica!

I put them in the pockets of my bags that contain tools. I also put them inside stored flashlights after emptying the batteries. I put them in drawers or storage boxes that contain MTs. I put them in tool boxes. I put them in the bottom of sheaths if they will fit and still fit the tool.

And if you happen to moisten your cell phone, a zipper bag of these will suck that toilet water out toot sweet.

Free is good. Silica gel is good. Rust is bad.

And.. fire bad.

My sincere apologies to any microcephalics who may have read the above. I was rude and insensitive. Some of my best friends are microcephalics. Also, I am a big fan of Zippy the Pinhead. I also enjoy the movie Freaks, and am a huge fan of the Ramones.

Some of my best friends are also troglodytes, but you people are on your own. Cretins.

I also save them. I actually paid 9.99 for a 50 pack on amazon too......

I keep them everywhere. Waterproof boxes, toolbox, tool storage, tackle boxes, and the tiny ones make perfect antifog packets in GoPros.

I've used pennies in my tackle box, probably just one of those old tales that people believe just because someone told them, but oh well.

Grrrrrr.. Fire bad!

Eh, not really. I love fire. I'm a fireholic. Not an arsonist though. I saw this bear once that told me I was the only one that could prevent forest fires. That's a lot of responsibility, and I take it seriously. I also don't want to fight a talking bear. He might know karate or something.

This is my guess anyway.

I save these too, and the smaller bags of silica that come with electronics and put them in the drawers where many of my tools live.
