Yeah, I've never tried a cast iron pot, but the though doesn't appeal to me for some reason.

Here's the one I use, a London Pottery Globe 4 cup teapot:

I rarely drink anything hot anyway..

Comes in a few finishes and colours, but the mat black is just nice IMO.

I like "gumboot" (plain) tea. My favourite is a strong one here called Choysa (in a round tea bag - a better taste all round). I also like Dilmah. I HATE Earl Grey. At work there is Twinings English Breakfast which is kinda okay but far from my favourite. We also have silly little teacups and saucers at work.

My perfect tea: Pour just-boiled water over the bag which is in a man-sized mug. Stirrring shouldn't be required. Let it draw for 3-4 minutes. Add a tiny amount of milk (about a capful). Dispose of bag in compost bin (what's with this chucking it in the sink malarchy?). Often I save dishes by grabbing the bag with my fingertips and using it to stir before taking it out.

A bad tea for me is where the bag is taken out immediately after pouring, then because it's so hot they pour lots of milk in it. Grrrrrr...

Tea should be made with boiling fresh water, milk and sugar. It should be served in a big old mug with well established tanin tide marks, and served with a bacon butty or chocolate hobnobs. Custard creams make an acceptable occasional variation. Mug should not be washed, just offered the most pathetic of rinses under the tap at the most. Mugs reach their optimum level of scale when women see it and start screaming "that's smurfing DISGUSTING!!!". Mug should only be washed when the tea holding capacity has become reduced

I'm drinking a nice mug of Yorkshire Gold black tea now. I really enjoy the Earl Grey a lot as well. I'm not a coffee drinker, well I use to be before retirement.

That general 'globe' style very common here, though I've got to say that one does look very similar. :)

Picked up some 'chai' teabags this afternoon.  I'll report back after I've tried them.
