I would certainly find it handy to have, but I feel that a ruler is essential EDC (even if it is so small).

The lack of ruler on the spirit is the reason why I carry the full sized Swisstool over it.

Anything and everything.  Quite a lot of what I need a ruler for is for buying new tools and knives.  :D  I can get a good idea of their dimentions before I buy them if I have a ruler to measure other tools with.
