Ok, I'm stumped. I think I should have a clue...but nope,not finding it
I looked it up and

Maxum?
Rem Max, haven't seen one of those in years. One of those cartridges that could have been more popular if better marketed- stick it in a lever action carbine, and you'd have had a serious brush gun that could have also handled light loaded .38s for bunny thumping. Well, darn. Other people remembered it to.
Hmmmmm, I guess my M-1 Garand is a little overkill for bunny hunting huh? That's us mobileNate
Me neither, might bang it up. That's us mobileNate

Time to dig out my copy of Cartridges of the World.......
Can it be used in lever action/gallery rifles?
Quote from: kirk13 on April 10, 2015, 10:40:26 PMCan it be used in lever action/gallery rifles? Not any lever actions that I'm aware of. Lever actions typically shoot blunt nose, rimmed cartridges, although there are exceptions.Back in the 90's this cartridge was popular in single shot TC Contenders. Today it has been revamped (same basic specs) for use in semi-auto rifles (as well as bolt action and single shots). It is popular as a sub-sonic, hard thumping cartridge.shark_za knows what it is.
