You finally got one!
Nice! The riveted PST has really seen a tipping point since the PST Chronology project got started; cool.
What a beauty! Can I be in your will? Def
I must find one Yours sure looks nice Thanks for the pics MM
Congrats on the rare score you got there Mat! Heck you might have the only riveted PST in the southern hemisphere for all we know. Quote(Image removed from quote.)More observations:Check out the hollow based rivets. Some early PST's are like that, while others have a solid base on the rivet so they look pretty much the same top and bottom. Also cool is the little series of stake marks around the plier pivot (another characteristic of the early models)Bob
I have one also, but it is in bad shape.A piece of the handle where the knife comes to a stop is gone, the blade itself is messed up, and several small ites are twisted. And ofcourse because of the riveted nature i cannot repair it.Would this still be of any value ?
Def you do not have one ? If not is it high on your list?
Now that's a fine question. I think these tools are a classic case of being worth whatever people will pay for them. I would certainly pay more for a riveted model (even with a bit of damage) than I would pay for a bog standard PST, but whether there is a 'market value' I seriously doubt. I've seen riveted models go for $20 on ebay.com, and then the next day for over $100. The value seems to have gone up since Bob started his PST project though
So far i have my Flair, my Supertool and a Pulse....guess now i should look into this PST everyone is talking about to add to my retired tool collection.and that minitool
Welcome to the world of being poor
