As for the Squeak: The way I hold it, the blade always wants to close (too much pressure with the thumb). This I find very irritating so its out of the question for me.

Doesn't sound like the best technique buddy.

Have you looked at the squeak? It has a thumb rest and its a very ergonomic grip for me (I hold most of my knifes like this), but with the Squeak the thumb-rest seems to be cosmetic.
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

I've just checked on mine. It will close easily on just thumb pressure. Getting your index finger into the choil will balence this. Having said that,any use I've put the Squeak to hasn't yet seen the problem arise.

I did have it happen with my old UKPK
There is no beginning,or ending,and for this we are thankful,cos now is hard enough to understand!
