Wow! Very interesting and thank you for posting this.

The one thing I am wondering is why is Cold Steel actually suing CRKT. Is it because CRKT is taking business away from them because of the Lawks system? Is it a personal thing between the owners? Does Cold Steel really care that much about CRKT's products and want to "protect" the customers?

I would normally say Cold Steel would probably lose this case as it seems CRKT does not claim it actually turns a folder into a fixed blade and they chose the wording very strategically saying it converts the knife into a virtual fixed blade. Its California though so Cold Steel cold actually win this.

I will try and follow this closely.

Haha. Looks like BF is not liking Cold Steels decision to do this and I happen to agree. Seems like there is some other motivation for this other than worrying about customers safety.

Grant. hope you don't mind me linking to BF.

Cold Steel is the Care Bear of the knife world, that seems to be their angle.....protect the poor users from sub-standard products.  :P

Don't know, I see vids on YT that seem to be CS slinging mud at CRTK, but I haven't seen any flying in the other direction - am I missing something?

--------------------------------------------------------
Something else that's been bothering me.....

I cannot for the life of my access crtk.com from home, I have a 2Mb ADSL from our national telecom...in Namibia.

At work I can access the site, the only difference being the company's internet breakout is in SA.

Several possible reasons for this, but none that make sense....

I guess it hurts Mr Thompson bases his whole sales pitch at being stronger than others.

That and slicing through whole horses.

I saw competitive destruction tests on YT of CS vs. CRKT that made me think maybe CRKT would sue....really bordered on ridiculous IMO....

LT....well yes, I downloaded Never Unarmed and learned from it what I could, but the more I learn about the tubby barstool the less I like him...

For the record I'm actually a Cold Steel fan....

I gifted a friend the GI Tanto, made the mistake of telling him about the proof videos.....
They had a few too many not long ago and decided to test it by stabbing into a shipping container
I saw the holes, and I also saw the damage to a few mounted Springbok trophies that they used as a target for throwing the knife.... :ahhh
The scales came off and one of the bolts we lost, if there's any other damage I can't see it on the blade  8)
