Ahh, so this is where int introduction area is. Hmm... Guess can say I'm not a modder, but have lots of ideas. Juli from Leatherman sent me over here to pester the forums and see all the wonderful things y'all with talent can muster up. Can say I'm quite impressed.
Myself was a nerd in high school, still am to a degree. My forte was boomerangs, although never made a Mad Max one... that would of gotten me into trouble a lot. Bought my first boomerang from a bloke named Richard Harrison of Monroe, LA (
www.theboomerangman.com) and been "hooked" on them since. Still fly them at age 48!
Could of used a Leatherman when I was making boomerangs and tuning them in the field. Instead carried a half curved & half flat rasp/file with me.
Didn't get a Leatherman till I was in my 30's living near Riggins, ID. Was a PST with the Marlboro brand. Rewards from all that second-hand smoke I guess. Used the PST on just about every computer, water pump, and just about anything that needed it since.
Later after performing a huge computer & networking job for the Stinker station, took part trade of the work on a Super Tool.
The Super Tool was rather hefty, yet carried it around everywhere too. Think the PST went to my parents for a "house tool" which eventually got broke and ended up being replaced with a Pulse. It's around somewhere, never liked the locking mechanism, and I think the awl was missing too. Grrr.
Had the Super Tool for nearly 15 years. Was a wildland firefighter for Ash Kickers, Inc. and the very first fire near Provo, UT had a left boot blowout. Luckily I was a pack-rat and carried some braided woven nylon thread and this odd triangular S needle. (In a recent move came across the needle & thread, sharpened the needle and stuffed it into some tubing and carry it in the back pouch of my Wave now. Came across them in our recent move, and posted over at:

Now this Super Tool saved my boot, and my first job. The Sewing job was rough, yet the boots outlasted the repair job. Thanks to the Super Tool's awl. Since have sworn my next tool would have an awl.
The Super Tool's awl broke during a recent river flood while doing some tarp repairs, and sent it back to Leatherman; got a new Super Tool 300 back. The Super Tool had been in use for nearly 15 years before breaking - <3 that Leatherman warranty!
Collected Leatherman tools ever since living in the mountains. Owned one Gerber that was always pinching me - and it ended up down the wheel well of a '67 Cadillac Calais. It's still there too.
Have had the PST and Super Tool, now have the Crunch, Pulse, a recent contest win of a Special Edition Micra. Squirt S4, (2) Style CS, Super Tool 300, a recently purchased Vista, and this Wave that I've had for a few years - cursing the flat blade wishing it was an awl!
Just placed an order tonight for a black oxide Surge finally - been procrastinating on that for a couple of years. Since I'm not an
Evil510, it was time to break down and buy one.
We have a Fuse as the new house tool. Have a stainless steel Monarch 500 (Costco version) and a heavily used Serac S2 that I picked up a month ago - carry it with me everyday too. Even bought a black mesh ivy cap (EK New Era Legend) just to attach the Serac S2 to!
In closing, have a K503x lockback and semi-recent E33Lx pocket knives.
Been hanging out on the Leatherman forum because like here, it's friendly. Won a Micra from them too, which is a perk!
Thanks. Now... whens the Damascus Surge III TTi coming out?
