Any way to know where a Buck Stockman 301 is made?

I understand Buck has manufactured their 301 Stockman both in the US and China. If this is correct, is there any way to know where a given knife is produced (given the very minimal information most web shops publish)? E.g., are there any scale materials which have only been used in one of the countries, or something like that?

After digging around on Buck's site, it seems the tang stamp and shape of the nail nick is the way to go. :)

The 301 has always been made in the US.  The Chinese-made equivalent is the 371.  Any Buck slipjoint that has a model number of 30x is US made.  Here's a little comparison with my trademark crappy pics  ;) that I did of the 301 and the 371 a while back.  Both are excellent knives.  :tu:
