There is only one name for a beautiful young lady but I will admit some bias, Olivia.

Vesna -  Slavic goddess of spring

Used to be very popular decades ago, it's my mother's name, but I don't know any young Vesnas. Apparently it's gaining popularity in Slovenia though.

True. I know one 31 year old and all the others are quite older. But maybe it's time to bring it back. :D

For example a decade or two ago there were hardy any girls being named Ana or Marija. Names that are in, one variation or another, standard in all the western cultures. But it was simply considered an old woman's name and no girls got named those names. And then they became popular again. :D

I know a couple of Marijas that are around their 30s.

Anna, Anne, etc. has been popular around Europe for years, especially in the eastern/orthodox part

Usually here you give your children the names of grandparents, so the name fashions go in cycles.

George has suddenly become popular in the UK, after the young prince was born..

My wife is named Katerina (and my Opinel Jardin and my Swisschamp XLT and my biggest telescope and a bunch of other stuff) and my daughter is named Helen(e). I'm fond of these names.

Congrats on your first baby. Girls are great we had five. I like the name Alyssa.

Xena, the warrior princes.....

My niece's name is Zena, named after her great-grandmother.

There is only one name for a beautiful young lady but I will admit some bias, Olivia.

Olivia is my mother's name, after her grandmother. She doesn't like it bit it became very popular here again about 25 years ago.

One thing I hate is last names for first names...

How about Daenerys?  ;)

Has anyone offered up Calliope yet? Congrats on the addition. Little girls are a lot of fun - I have 2 myself.

Having been in quest of a name for our child recently, I sympathise so I'll throw in some more suggestions. For the record, we ended up naming him after my father-in-law  ::) .

But first lemme back my previous choices a little. You've probably heard of the Oedipus complex; here's the female version https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electra_complex  :D

Then, I am told it is customary in Romania to give names of flowers. Here's where Daphne comes in, it is the name for bay laurel, I love that plant. I agree it's kinda gruff for a girl's name, though. I find it more suitable for grown women, somehow.

Finally, how about Lena? Not very exotic but I quite like how it sounds. Speaking of sound:

Has anyone offered up Calliope yet?

Calliope is my grandma's name, it means the one with the beautiful voice.

Not fighting, I reserve my egoism for other things  :)

https://el.wikipedia.org/wiki/%CE%9C%CE%BF%CF%8D%CF%83%CE%B5%CF%82 At first glance, kkokkolis is right.

Instead of talking etymologies, reason tells us that the Muse of Poetry would need a good voice instead of gorgeous eyes. Am I wrong in assuming so?

no mention here   ???
