Lovely all-round use geometry on those knives. Sounds like you had a great trip!
But you know, for us on the other side of two continents, some photos would be highly appreciated.

Apologies, we were hunting and I'm pretty banged up thanks to the railings on the Land Cruiser, no time to take scenic photos, and honestly not the skill or equipment to catch the real beauty.Good news is google images for "Kalahari red dunes" should give you some idea....I have a very crappy photo of myself glaring into the sun with one of my Springboks, honestly didn't know it that would be welcome here. Nate - I believe you're right, but I prefer carbon steel as well. I have a Mora Companion so that could work if need be, just can't get it quite as sharp as the bushcraft....I've used mine quite a bit and was starting to believe rust won't be an issue in our climate, but this time while cleaning I had to scrub a bit and just enough enough coating was lost, I assume 2 days covered in blood helped it along as well.Looks excellent with the gun blue, so I'll top it up every now and again.
Sounds like a great trip! Just a question, you processed a lot of game, did you wash and dry the sheath? I bet someone who borrowed it stuck it bloody into the sheath once and that blood transfer is maybe the reason for the overnight rust spots.
