Lansky Turnbox great sharpener !

I just got one last week and I'm really impressed with how well it works. I've been able to get all of my blades hair shaving sharp with a minimum of effort. I got the one with four rods, two fine and two medium ceramic. I paid $17 shipped for mine on E-bay.

I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great sharpener on a budget   :tu:

I also have the Turn box and will agree wholeheartedly.  Its a simple set up with little room for error.  If you are looking for a sharp blade then this is the kit for you. If you are looking for something beyond what any of us really need in a sharp blade then this is not a bad start.  Its great on SAKs and my Leatherman MTs also get a good touch up from this kit.

I prefer to sharpen freehand, mainly for the practice and for when the factory grind doesn't match the angles, but the turnbox is a great item for those who aren't practised in freehand sharpening, or as a gateway to help them appreciate the angles involved

Great point 50ft,  the turnbox has two angles to choose from 20 or 25.  Freehand is always gonna trump this type system.

It is very easy to just angle the blade slightly to compensate for whatever angle you need. I do it on my Sharpmaker all the time. Mark the edge with sharpie and you can see exactly where you are hitting.

This system gets my knives as sharp as I will ever need them , I don't need a blade so sharp that it can split an atom   :D
