What material is the clip on the Spyderco UKPK and can it be blackened?

Does anybody happen to know what the UKPK clip is made from and how to blacken it? I just got one of these on the road to serfdom and for what it is it seems pretty good. It rides very low. If the clip were black it would just disappear.

Any ideas?

Pretty sure it is stainless steel. You could just order a black clip from Spyderco.

I didn't find any page on the Spyderco site to order replacement parts. Do you happen to know the part is available?

You have to call to get parts from Spyderco, they will not be listed on the website.

You want the clip off of the Sage 1.
