Bought a leatherman C305 and Found my old PST Leatherman in the same day

I bought a Kershaw Scallion a few weeks ago and the tip broke.  I went over to Wal-Mart and asked if they would exchange it without a receipt.  The manager said no problem and told me to get another Kershaw.  The sports department manager told me that they had not had that knife for a while and was unsure when they would be getting it back.  I then asked the manager if I could upgrade.  The manager said no problem and I picked out a Leatherman C305 and could not be happier.  It's a perfect match to my Leatherman Wave.  When I got home I started to go through some gear and found my original Leatherman PST.  I had not seen this knife in 5 years!  I have had it for about 15 years.  When I opened it I discovered the file was broken.  I must have done it along time ago because I don't remember doing it. I was thinking of calling Leatherman and see if they could fix it for me.  I would love to keep it, it's a great tool.

Wow your walmart has great service! The walmart here have their ass so tight they won't even let my dad exchange a brand new belt for a different size without a recipe, it's even have the barcode sticker says walmart on it FFS...

no kidding. only a few times have i been allowed to exchange things without a reciept. I remember last time I returned something it was a Buck knife. I had returned it upon finding out it was made in china. I took it back, and told them I demand my money back for this. I gave my reciept and everything. They offered to give me cash back on a walmart card but wasnt about having this. I told them I wanted my cash back, or I would take my business elsewhere, and tell them how bad the CS was at the store. I got my cash back, and went that same day and bought a Case knife at the local hardware store. The things stores will do to keep your money.

Good story jetscream :salute: Glad you found your PST I would send it back with a note telling them that it is sentimental and you would prefer it to be fixed, I believe that they will oblige you ;) :)

At the walmart where I live you can return anything but food, DVDs & games, black powder & long arms and ammunition(used to be you could return it within 24 hours w/reciept). I once returned a Buck assisted opening knife that the spring wore out within a few weeks and they gave me a full refund.

I'd like to return this Ka-Bar please... why?  Well it has someone else's DNA on it and I find that somewhat unacceptable.  Where do you keep the band aids?

I really don't go to the right stores!

(I jest of course, I'm a snob boutique shopper. Department stores are for chumps.)

I'm really here to ask some folks for other feedback on Leatherman Knives (esp. the 300 series, since I've never needed a knife over 3")

I really wish the Numpad on my keyboard worked.
