Any Böker Experts here?
on: September 10, 2015, 12:07:44 PM
I have aquired a Böker pocket knife.
From it´s making and design i´d say it´s old, at least from teh seventies.

It is a classic 2 layer pocket knife, quite exactly as big as a 91 mm Vic.
It has blue plastic scales with visible pins, an inset Logo (German silver) showing a tree and "Solingen"
The Tools are:
Big blade (spearpoint), small blade (clip point)
can opener (dog leg style), Bottle opener w. screwdriver
Backside:
Phillips w. file!
and big awl

Tang stamp shows the Böker tree, and says Böker Solingen Germany INOX
Liners seem to be german silver, too

Yes, I know. Pics will follow.

I have never seen a similar Böker pocket knife and I quite like it. I am unsure if I should take it to the Solinger Knife sharpener that visits our local market or if I should send it to BÖKER for a bit of TLC.

Perhaps the progenitor of the Boker 940 from the late 70's early 80's...same blade layout but no backtools.

I think you'd be better sending it to the Blamington Hall Reseach and Restoration Centre

Well, that would be a possibility - I might be tempted in exchange for a British made folder?!

Not really - But teh only "Sheffield" blades I have owned til now where sad POS exploiting a once big name. I don´t know the values, but maybe an electricians knife (w. Corkscrew?) Or a Scout knife pattern if those were made on your island? Nothing special, really.
