TV: 2015 scifi shows
on: September 17, 2015, 01:18:47 PM
So there's plenty of new shows and a couple returning, as well as some shows that are wrapping up for good (and in some cases good they're wrapping it up)

Mine is looking huge:
Continuum - final season airing - gathering EPs
Dark Matter - new - in watch queue
Defiance - season 3 just finished - in queue
Extant - season 2 just finished - in queue
Falling Skies - Season 5 airing, collecting
Fear The Walking Dead - new - gathering EPs
Gotham - Season 2 started - gathering EPs, still have season 1 in the queue
Killjoys - new - watching now, cheesy space bounty hunter show, I'm seeing a bit of firefly here, but somehow worried that if I like it they'll cancel it.
Orphan Black - currently 3 seasons to watch
Outlander - season 1 in the queue
Penny Dreadful - both seasons in queue
The Strain - season 2 collecting, in queue
Under The Dome - Final season just finished, final season in queue (about time I think they wrote themselves into a corner... or under a dome... long ago)
Z Nation - season 2 started - watching... this cheeseball series is back... I can't help myself.

This doesn't include my other regulars that are starting new seasons soon.  :ahhh

We also recently watched/caught up entirely with:
Mr Robot
Sense8
The Last Ship
Halt And Catch Fire

So what's in your queue/looking interesting/are you currently watching?
The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.

Yeah me too but since it's mid season break and I caught up quite a few months back that's why it's not in that list.

Also none of my superhero shows:
Arrow, agents of shield,  daredevil,  the flash,  agent carter,  etc as they're also on break

Lots & lots of shows....but none that great, or is it just me?

The Strain is good, but obviously won't last long...

Tyrant is good if I'm in a serious mood.....

Omg that's nothing to our count, I can't even remember half of the ones we watch, I think we have like 80 something year round, not all scifi,, but the new ones that are coming up that we're going to look into are about some lady who lost her memory and has all these tattoos? And another about some guy that takes a pill and can do like everything? As for the ones you listed, I like Zoo and the last ship!

You too eh? I feel like they ditched Atlantis too early thinking that Universe would be a run away hit, instead they buried it just as it was starting to make sense and get into it's stride.

Agreed, I have just re-watched Atlantis, all of it.

Also a shame about the end of Falling Skies :twak:

Have they shut that too? I guess it pretty much ran out of where to go... I think they jumped too far too fast and lost out on some good inbetween storytelling.

I finished watching first season of dark matter. That says a lot, I finished the whole season, which is pretty good for a sf show. And I love sf!

Also I miss firefly.  :D

space sci fi in general has been pretty sparse... Where's the massive shows like Star Trek(any of the several), Battlestar Galactica, Stargate, Babylon 5, Firefly , Farscape, Space Above and Beyond (another one cut short)

The majority of "Space" Scifi these days seems to be very little to do with space travel for humans, more like earth based invasions...

On my tablet right now so I'm not going to type a whole list, but I have been pleasantly surprised by Dark Matter for some reason.  Not come across Killjoys before, I'll have to look that one up.

Hmmm....worthwhile?

Dark Matter has potential, but I also feel they're not setting up the Dark Matter universe for a long story line - if you get my meaning?

Killjoys I tried to like, couldn't make it through EP1, tried again but gave up......too much drama.

Agent Carter was a surprise flop for me???? Stopped watching about EP3 so maybe I missed something.

Flash and Daredevil have the most potential IMO.

Anybody watch Sense8?

Such a great story, even the way they jumped around, and who minds a little 18SNL ?!?!  :D

......then they go and loose the plot.  :-\

It's like they got carried away and tried to shows as many LGBT sex scenes just to show that they could.

I liked it for daring to be different and it's beautifully shot.  I'll be watching a second series if it gets made.

One that I was sorry to see go was Almost Human.  I've seen much worse shows that that get picked up for more than one series. :-\

+1 It is renewed so we'll get that chance.

For me the Iceland hook is too attractive to me atm due to my not so recent discovery of my family heritage being from there for hundreds of years... I'm also turning somewhat more introverted in my old age and have less and less tolerance for noise from the human race in general, it seems like it would be a spectacularly quiet place at times... sadly I don't think my wife would like it for anything more than a couple weeks... and definitely not in winter.

As for Killjoys, I'm 3 Episodes in myself atm, I don't hate it, also one of the cast played Jinx on Warehouse13.

Almost Human did get cut off way too short. It had a lot left to give whereas they seem to love milking series that clearly don't have anything new to bring to the table for 6 more seasons...

Agent Carter was a surprise flop for me???? Stopped watching about EP3 so maybe I missed something.

I like Agent Carter for what it is, and it's coming back for more IIRC.

Flash is hero cheese, like Arrow, and IMHO they're crossing over back and forth FAR too much. I still like it.

Daredevil had a great first season, but I suspect the next one will muck it up a bit as they branch out with more characters instead of maintaining that tight focus on Daredevil's life.

In any case most of my superhero shows seem to be on between season breaks... so that's why they aren't in my initial list. I did rather like the Supergirl pilot.

Also another one coming soon that I liked was the Lucifer pilot, where the he leaves hell to run a nightclub in LA

Liked it, too. Also Last Man on  Earth. Very funny, wish they had some more episodes.

And it just hit me: TBBT!

Nobody talking about The Big Bang Theory?! OK, some things are not so good as they were some seasons ago, but the show is evolving and the interactions are still great.

Just got a copy of the Minority Report pilot this week. Shows some potential. I fear it will end up an episodic future cop drama. Not sure I'd keep with if that is the case. Have to give it a chance and see.

Dark Matter and Killjoys were my favorite new sci-fi releases from this past year. Good to see them with other shows finishing up (e.g. Falling Skies).

Fear the Walking Dead is a bit different from TWD. I like it, and it's rather interesting to see how the writers imagine the start of the zombie apocalypse.

Too bad this is Continuum's wrap up. I've enjoyed it. I expect it to be a pretty complicated time paradox kind of season since it's a short one. I think it's six episodes?

Z Nation season two just started. Typical silly fun from the first season with some particularly good outlandish humor in S02E01.

And someone mentioned The Strain might not last long? Someone on another forum who read the books told me that they haven't progressed as far in the novels as one might think. Could easily be a five season show.
