Anyone have either of these they would be willing to review for the Main Site?

tread is  :dwts:
From what I read those who actually have a Thread and carry it, they quite like it.

It's certainly pricey, but I see lots of positive feedback, so I will stay out of it until I have tested one myself (which probably never will happen).

As for the Signal, I still haven't given up on it, and there are probably also people who like it. I mean there are people who would choose the Wave over the Charge and I can't understand that, so I'm probably a poor judge on what people like
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

I've also seen good reviews on the tread.  People who have it have like it with the normal knocks for whatever reason.

Here is what I like about the Signal: The Hammer
Last weekend I had put together several wooden shelves for our medieval festival. They are all fixed with wooden wedges and a light duty hammer would have come in very handy. For the same reason I look at the Mut at least once a week (but the rest of the tool always turns me away).
With the pliers, would saw and blade I would have been almost completely covered. I could have used the carabine to pull some hooks out.
What I would have missed is a wood file. Wood that gets wet sometime deforms a bit.

Good for you, that you find the hammer useful. I can see how a flat surface to jab wood would have helped you in your assembly. No dents or marks left on the wood.

In the wilderness this hammer will have little to no use except maybe to crack open some nuts. It's advertised use is to drive tent stakes but I got hold of a MUT on a camping trip and tried hammering tent stakes to the ground and found it very uncomfortable. All the sharp nooks and edges bite in to your hands when the hammer hits the stake. A rock does the same job faster. If no suitable rocks to be found close by your hiking boots will also do the job.

I did not want to give my opinion on the Signal without trying one first but I think the hammer is a waste in an outdoors situation. But the carabiner should be very useful. Maybe that's why they decided on the MUT platform for this tool.

Just for clarification, I don't have a Signal

Agreed that this is a hammer with very limited application. Using the carabiner as a hook could be very useful.
However, I would like to point out that there might be someone out there that gets good use out of the Signal. We all should know that there is no best/perfect* MT only the best for you today.

I tried on Tread while I was at LM retail store in July, LOL it is not for me.
I don't need to wear 25 different screwdriver on me all the time.

I never see Signal as an outdoor tool, from the get go I wanted to turn it into a city tool, ditch saw for scissors along with other mods, but the wide spread of its handles (21*, see my other thread) just made this tool un-useable to me. The reason I fancy a hammer is I could use it to flatten the heavy duty staples they use on engineering drawings.

I'd like to weigh in on the Wave vs Charge discussion-
If you feel the need to upgrade from the Wave, just get a Surge  :nothingtoadd:

This is an excellent point regarding that useless hammer.  There is no wilderness situation that this device becomes a greater asset than just about anything else for blunt force applications.
