Kampfer's Squirt September
on: September 30, 2015, 09:54:54 PM
Day 1:   My boy using my tool to punch a hole for a drink.

Day 1:   Tighten up some screws before the mirror fall off the wall.

Day 2:   Needed to open a can last night, since Squirt doesn't have a can opener, I used the kitchen opener.
(I am sure Squirt blade can open it, but it would a a PITA and might suffer some damage).
Day 2:   Also did some food prep this morning, the blade was just too short for my liking, so used dedicated kitchen knife instead.
Day 2:   Taking apart an old computer.

Day 3:   Used PSA4 for some small cut tasks, performed well but not without its limitation.
We all seen OB1 went nuts cutting all kind of crazy things with his, thank him for that.
Do I want to do the same with a tiny blade? Not unless I have no other choices.
Day 3:   Cut some zip ties with the scissors in my son’s school yesterday, did not draw any attention. That is good.
Day 3:   Cutting up lunch in school

Day 4:   Continue to find limitation of Squirt, need to fix the jammed garbage disposal, Skulletool with 1/4" hex bit saved the day.
Day 4:   It welcomes a new member to his family.

Day 5:   Snack Time

Day 5:   I got a can of Grass Jelly I really want to eat for dessert, but my PSA4 does not have a can opener, what can I do?

First I took off the suspension clip, then tap the phillips driver to punch a whole bunch holes on top of the lid.

After that I use the flathead driver to finish it off.

Now I need to slice up the jelly, but PSA4's blade is only 1.5" short, it will be very messy. What can I do?

Since the lid basicly turned into a saw disk, I'd just use that to slice up the jelly.

Now if you will excuse me, I am going to enjoy my dessert.

Day 6:   Lazy day, Squirt with a full size pistol for in house carry.

Day 6:   Thrilled a new hole on a leather sling.

Day 6:   Another two violations:
There was a lot of beer bottles needed to open quickly, Squirt's cap lifter just isn't fast enough for them beer drinkers, so I used the opener in kitchen drawer.
It is not smart to cut a big birthday cake with a 1.5" blade, so I used a proper knife.
Day 7:   PSA4 fought a bunch big screws today, they were tough, I need to use the driver in L position to turn them.
Maybe having a half stop on drivers like Victorinox does would be a good idea.

Day 8:   All Quiet on the Western Front.
Day 8:   Another violation
I didn't want to go through the trouble to Squirt a can open like I did the other day, plus I had to test my new Pioneer mod, so it is what it is.
Day 9: H O T  day !!!
Went to the beach for a cool dip with Squirt clipped to pocket. It took a cold shower after, no rust.
Day 10:   1/3 into this crazy challenge, I like to point out that the biggest drawback of Squirt is the size of knife blade.
It is difficult to it on many tasks. It can be done like Ob1 shown us, but just plain PITA.
Teaming up Squirt with a folder could be the winning combo.
Day 11:   Thomas needs a refuel

Day 12:   Cleaned my boy's finger nails with Squirt's awl.
Day 13:   Juice!

Day 14:   is melon Monday:

Day 15: I am going to set mini me free.

smurf! The gun is a fake.

Be hold, Leatherman is here to help.

Smells like victory!

Day 15:   Putting a knife kit together.

Day 16:   This is a crazy week, real life wise, no action on day 16.
Day 17:   Feed my wild side

Day 18:   Fixing a dresser.

Day 18:   Big work out for little Squirt.
Found as "As-is" night stand at IKEA, marked down to $20 from $40 because a screw is missing from the drawer's handle.
Ask an employee for a correct screw, use Squirt's pliers, driver to install it properly on spot.
Having a MT on person really pay off.

Day 19:   Attending wedding in wine country today, minimalist EDC in suit.

Day 19:   At wedding reception, those bread are armor plated, but no match to Squirt.
Day 19:   Also later I needed tooth pick to take care of some stuck steak, Squirt pliers took care of that too, don't think you want pic of that.

Day 20:   I was unconscious most the day, recovering from the night before, then went to a little kid's birthday party, popped a few beer bottles, no photos.
Day 21:   Diner.

Day 22:   Tuning up my CQC6K

Day 23:   Freeing a whole lot of cloth hangers

Day 24:   Used Squirt this morning for some personal grooming, inappropriate to post photo of that.
Day 24:   Big steak, little knife.

Day 25:   Candy for kid

Day 26:   Freeing Signal from package

Day 27:   Moon cake

Day 28: Welcoming a soldier

Day 29: The Challenge is almost over, time for a drink.

Day 30: The cabinet door needs some adjustment.

Good stuff, K-Dog.  For a little while at least, even a slightly bigger MT will probably seem enormous.

Nicely done man!  I especially like day 28 when you let the soldier out!  LOL

I don't think or should I say I know I couldn't get by with just a PS4 everday.  Some days sure but some no way!  I would also prefer a small sak like the Rambler or even Mini Champ over the small Leatherman's but I don't carry any of those on my keys anymore!

Good read though as it is nice to see any tool in actual use on a daily basis as that is the only way one will know if it will work for them or not!

Hope you do some others so keep up the good work!

Yes, there were time that I really needed a longer blade, stronger divers, so if I carry the Squirt in future, it will team up with the Ranger.

Great read sir, it was really fun (mostly because there was not that much to read). Joking aside, well done with the can and the water melon, but I wanted to ask what food/eatibleitem/thing was that of day 17? Some sort of salami?

If you didn't feed it so well, someone could make the argument that you are attempting to work that little Squirt to death.LOL.
