Another Kershaw would be your best bet, but a Ontario RAT (I or II) would be a good option as well.
a cheap Stanley knife
Dumb thread for everyone to toss ideas into. Want to get my cousin a knife as a gift just for the hell of it. Does a lot of box breaking and not a lot of sharpening or knife care.
Box breaking, not sharpening, cheap ... Only one option like dks said, Stanley knife.Or if you want it more compact, Gerber EAB, has a pocketclip is small, and you exchange blades when dull, no sharpening involved. Perfect for breaking own boxes as cardboard will dull a blade in no time.
If a friend gave me a Stanley knife as a gift I would not be so happy. Best tool for the job but a crappy gift if you ask me. No soul or class.

It's like giving someone a 10mm spanner. It might be the best tool for the job but it's got no soul. A gift of a knife is much deeper that cutting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would rather get the Stanley or a 17mm ratchet spanner.
