Pietervn, here are the pictures of the mut and file. All i did was grind the end down enough to fit in the bit holder. It wobbles some side to side, but probably would be used off the tool anyway.

Thanks for the pics. That is a very cool idea. I will try that over the weekend, it might very well solve my problem with not having a file, which I prefer to a saw for my EDC duties. I do have some extra old Surge saws and files that I kept when mine was replaced under warranty.
