Until I see proof, I will just assume it's conspiracy - like the bacon causing cancer thing.

Not an OHT clone, but I've never seen this one before. Kind of like that old Craftsman MT, but with some added functionality.

Bear Grylls color scheme and accessory kit, to boot! Someone has clearly done their marketing research.

I'm digging the bottle opener cutout on the saw for extra drunken danger. Imagine tryi to use that thing 7 beers deep.

I haven't seen an OHT clone/knockoff/whatever you want to call it...yet.

That Gerberesque is interesting as it appears to be trying to copy the BG Strata Survival pack...but failed miserably. That is different enough to be of interest however.
A little Leatherman information.

My cheapo-tool sickness pinged on that, too.

It looks to be the exact same ferro rod, and maybe something like a Deal Extreme $3 LED flashlight (which have worked fine for me in the past) with the tool. And the tool looks intriguing. Chako, get one and give a review! :D

Was on flea bay. And has been withdrawn from sale. Seller has only sold 4-5 items before, and no one was touching it.

Why you no post pictures for your friends here at MTO?

Cause I wanted to buy it.
As it happens it was re-advertised and someone else bought it.
I have been a little gun-shy since I bought a fake Gerber Det in the early days, and inadvertently almost sold it on to another MTO user.

I think the more likely scam you'll encounter with a drastically underpriced Leatherman is the one where the seller doesn't have the item at all and they're just looking to grab a few bucks before closing their account and starting over, leaving ebay to pay you back.
Are there any known Leatherman counterfeits around? We've all seen clones, but I've never personally come across one that actually claimed to be a real Leatherman.

Cast iron rules. It's hard to believe people buy anything else.

I love cast iron pans etc.

I think restaurants are not allowed to use them anymore for health reasons.. At least that is what I was told.

Well........if you are anaemic go for the cast iron cookware!  I heard about one guy whose iron levels were too high, so high they had to change cookware, but I guess most people have the opposite problem.

Found this article fascinating : http://www.wired.com/2015/06/little-iron-chotchke-can-help-cure-big-health-issue/

I love cast iron for my meat and for rösti... but thinking that you can digest iron is wrong. Eating iron will only make your stool magnetic but not help with anemia*. For iron to be digested it needs to be in the proper form and environment, that means ideally red meat (Getting iron from plant works too, but is far less efficient).

*Your body cannot take up elemental iron but only iron-salt (Fe2+/Fe3+). In case of your cast iron pan that would be called rust. Commonly, people don't let their pans rust but also rust aka iron-oxide is still not taken up very well (IIRC it has something to do with iron-oxide being to stable, it does also not dissolve easily in water (remember your stomach is far from being as acidic as coke) and such).
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

So, still no pictures of the OHT clone? Can we get a description from someone that's seen it? It would help to have details for an Internet search.

Well, there was a slight error leading to a presumed 10x higher iron content in spinach than it really was.
In addition, Spinach contains substances that inhibit iron uptake... so even a hamburger gives you more iron.

I like raw spinach anyhow. We have a dish here with boiled spinach and rice, I don't like that

Why would anyone copy the OHT, is it selling that well?

Edit: I mean, there's a lot of parts to copy on the OHT, I doubt it would be profitable.
