I got a new Compact in the mail today to replace the one I gave to my older daughter, who had lost hers. I tried to get by with a Pioneer in my pocket  and a Classic on my keys for a few weeks; it worked OK, but I had to have my Compact back.

I've probably given a dozen of these away over the years; maybe I should keep a couple of spares on-hand.

Congrats Frailer! I went ahead and ordered myself one as well, should arrive Tuesday I hope.

How are you carrying the Compact?

I see a lot of those suspension clips in pics, mind if I ask where you guys get them from?

I'm not sure I'd use one for the compact, or even my climber (maybe), but would definitely like one for a 4 layer such as explorer.

Oh, and Mechanickal, was that you who I saw in another thread that made one  out of an old pocket watch clip?

That was a neat idea who ever it was but there seems to be a smallish common clip I see in pics all the time, any ideas?

Thx.  I have several of the knick-off suspension clips I got from eBay.  It's the best way to carry a SAK for me.

Yes, that was me :D

I've also got the other ones.
Those can be found on ebay and Chinese wholesale sites.
Search for "suspension clip" or "edc clip".
Just a sec, I'll look for a link.

Edit:
http://m.benl.ebay.be/itm/5-X-EDC-Bag-Suspension-Clip-Keychain-Clip-Tool-Carabiner-Outdoor-Quicklink-HU-/361782304174?nav=SEARCH

I did receive various levels of quality so one can not really tell beforehand what you'll receive.
I've got 2 brilliantly finished ones and 2 that look like they're punched from an old can.

How are you carrying the Compact?

For years I carried it loose in my pocket, but these days I usually carry it alongside a Streamlight Microstream, in a leather slip that came with a whetstone:

Got my compact delivered today,  :like:

I've been carrying my climber for the last few weeks but I can see the compact taking over as my edc or at least getting into a rotation.

The thinness is very nice and comfy in the pocket yet it still has most all of the tools I want, (save the awl I guess).
I also got my evo14 which I also love. It's a tad wider than expected but gorgeous with the wood scales. I just cut a little paper with the scissors, will have to give those more time though the spring seems more robust.
Here are some pics, for your viewing pleasure  :D

Pic 1 and 2 are my climber and new compact
Pic 3 and 4 are my climber, compact and evo14

I'm in agreement...reminding one of what was said many centuries ago:

as retold by Francis Bacon, in Essays, 1625:

Mahomet cald the Hill to come to him. And when the Hill stood still, he was neuer a whit abashed, but said; If the Hill will not come to Mahomet, Mahomet wil go to the hil.

So it seems modifications are required...

It has taken me awhile but I'm finally getting used to the black Compact after carrying El Rojo for so long...   I am confident he will enjoy his new life in the mother country.

El Compact will be treasured and well looked after my friend. Bathed in the finest olive oil and wiped dry on Egyptian cotton - no luxury will be too great for this fine beauty.  :salute:

That is well within your rights Señor Crepúsculo.  The combo tool has not failed me yet.  But I definitely will report back when it does.  El KC Rambler/Manager has been there for any phillips needs that have presented themselves so far.  I find that extra couple mm from the Climber + makes a difference in El Pocket.
