I have always been a "closet Victorinox Guy" because I carry a small one on every keychain I own - now about five of them - plus carry a belt mounted 3-1/2" or 4" one when not in the office. (Folks seem to frown on knives at work until they need one)About ten or fifteen years ago, I got one of them confiscated when the airline rules changed, and got irritated. Then I flew again and lost another. At that point I researched what they were doing with them and found out the state of Oregon (because I flew out of Portland Airport) sold them at auction, by lots. Seemed simple and bid on a couple of lots and was...successful beyond my intent. I didn't understand the bidding process and ended up with 71 knives for $40, of which about half were cheap Chinese but I had nearly thirty Victorinox knives. Over the years I have outfitted my brothers and sisters and their kids with many knives, and lost a few more. I am down to the last eight or so, and they are larger knives (3/5 inches or more) that are all different. I am trying to find out about them for curiosity, but the TimeKeeper was something that someone else might like - I use my knives hard and it seemed a pity to mess it up.THAT is my story. I have a long and tender relationship with these knives, and just like 'em - like my John Deere tractor, they are mighty fine.
