Its a HK Ally multitool. (It has a glassbreaker ) and its a sweet knife that    went strait into my pocket.

I was eyeing off the Deluxe Tinker just last week and always wanted an Opinel. I didn't even know they came in blue. I even have morning tea lined up for work next week. Thankyou and Merry Christmas from accross the seas Konstantino,

Look at all this stuff. Christmas came early.
I was eyeing off the Deluxe Tinker just last week and always wanted an Opinel. I didn't even know they came in blue. I even have morning tea lined up for work next week. Thankyou and Merry Christmas from accross the seas Konstantino, 

Neat!  That opinel sure is pretty,  and I Like the Deluxe Tinker.  What's in the blue boxes with the girl on them, and in the one under the opinel?

The boxes with the girl contain MEZ tablets. MEZ are the local incarnation of the Austrian PEZ tablets. PEZ come from 1927 but MEZ are by no means contemporary since their history goes back to 1935. When I was a kid they also offered a similar to PEZ pallete of fruit flavors (MEZ are softer and richer than PEZ, according to Greek and generally SouthernEastern taste) but now they are restricted to the three original flavors of Mint, Cinnamon and Ouzo, neither of which is available from PEZ. The flavor I chose to send is the aboriginal Ouzo flavor, which I adore.



Under the Opinel we have a bar of the ancient Greek sweet made from honey and sesamy. Homer called it "ίντριον", intrion, and it was since then the "energy bar" of the Greek warrior. From Herodotus to early Byzantine times it was call "σησαμίς" or "σησαμός", sesame, and from late Byzantine times to today "παστέλι", pasteli. There are many varieties, soft or crunchy and with additional nuts. This version is a more traditional soft variety with no sugar added, which comes from Kalamata (where the world famous Kalamata olives and Kalamata weed come from also)



I wanted to send a taste of Greece, although I suspect these products might be available down under, at least in Melbourne.
