Help me I.D this knife

All I know is that it's from around 1960 because of the awl and covered rivets. The bail also testifies to the age.

Looks to me like a 1960 version Spartan? I'll have a browse though. See what I can find for you.

EDIT:

"In the late 1960s, Victorinox started naming their popular models and Camper name was used for the model with the Spartan tool set the we currently know today"

That is all I could find. I hope it helps. And it looks like the person below me knows more about this than I do - I think he is right.

My wife suggested that we go to Switzerland on holiday this year. I'm really scared because I have a knife that belongs to the Swiss army.

It's a Model 236maU from c. 1960. I'd call it a Ranger because it's the same basic tool set, but this model doesn't really show up on US catalogs from the 50s and 60s (unlike it's Phillips-carrying brother, the Master Craftsman) so it doesn't really get the "Ranger" name until the 70s.

Looks like it has the no-nick metal saw?

Also one of those interesting cross over knives - With the new internal rivets (and bail) - But the old style awl
I think these features changed about the same time.

Shame about the blade - Which tang stamps? - I guess Victoria somewhere on the back ?
Although JB could tell us 'off pat' I would guess!!

And it has the rather uncommon "squared-off semi-blade" which is nice.

Sure looks like he knows what he is talking about. I shall resign from this thread and go back under my rock, hahaha!

I think these features changed about the same time.

By my estimation, knives of this style (large awl, hidden rivets) run from 1957/58 until 1962/63. Victorinox literature says that both the rivets and the awl changed in 1962, but I think they're mistaken about those dates. There are simply too many knives like this out there for it to be a partial year configuration thing.

Shame about the blade - Which tang stamps? - I guess Victoria somewhere on the back ?
Although JB could tell us 'off pat' I would guess!!

Most likely they are "Victorinox/Switzerland/Stainless/Rostfrei" on the front and "Victoria Officier Suisse" on the rear.
