GG fixed blade collection
on: November 26, 2015, 09:26:10 PM
Howdy

Apologies in advance, not teasing, this will be a work in progress.
this is what I could fit in tonight, doubt I'll have time for the rest before Sunday.

Starting with something almost forgotten.....
I bought this at a local fair when I was a kid, I can narrow it down to the late 80's:

Who can argue with handmade

Next some big stuff......which reminded me of the machetes.....those will follow:

Mounted my CS Bushman on a sanded and oiled rake handle, I hope to make thief/home invader kebab with this some day.

Black Ronin Ninja Machete pimped with home baked Micarta handles......similarly hope to remove an intruding arm with this someday...not for religious reasons, just to test the edge  :P

To round out the cheap smurf, Cold Steel, Buck, and a DOW with pretty decent 440C that I gave green wool Micarta handles.
When it left China the brass bolster and wood handles were already not touching, but the steel is good. Takes a mean edge and it killen a few drill bits to get the pin holes up to 6mm:

That Cold Steel is very appealing to me :tu: How do you like the Mora Pro C?

On a side note, morA is the word for babies in Greek ;) (same root as the word moron) :D

Happy is one of a kind in my experience, different from most cats he listens if you tell him "don't jump up there!", but then also loudly complains about his lack of freedom!

The CS is cheap and solid, I've read the steel is not that hard, but it's a copy of my favourite Scandinavian knife and I'm sure it's a good user.
I've done nothing but cut paper with the Pro C, still planning on getting the Pro S, Robust and maybe a few others, but in general just a great as you would expect a Mora to be.
Can say the Pro series handle works with my XL hands, while the new 511 felt A LOT better after rounding the rear part of the handle.

These are all my cheaper knives and the modifieds :salute:
More (hopefully) later.

Happy looks like a  8)  cat. I like how Happy likes to get in on the action while you trying to get pics.   :)   Looking forward to your next pics of your knives!    :)

Some handmades, my own humble creation next to my happy-birthday-to-me Gecko Knives custom.
I'm doing a course at Gecko late in December, so the quality of my next attempts can get closer to that glorious piece of D2

This is most of it, my big handmade dagger is getting a spa treatment and the blade is full of masking tape, just realized there's the Buck kit the gun safe, will update with those ASAP.

Might as well plonk this here.....
My boxer name is Gerhard "Voter Apathy" Gerber, so in that spirit I put an unexpected Friday off to better use than standing in (as it turns out very short) queues to vote....

A buddy welded the bearing to rebar for me, need to get a welder and learn how to use it, but I did get a ways before it broke off.
The #23 spanner is about 70% to where I want it:

Thank you for showing us the pictures, and I like how this last knife is coming alone, has a Chinese DaDao feel(I think coldsteel had made a replica in the past):
