In retrospect, if I were given the same materials, it probably will take me hours, if not days.  :facepalm: :D
Merit Badges Participants shall carry and use one Soldier knife, the model of their choosing, for the duration of the 90 days and post a picture each day. Participate in a challenge thread and post a photo of a Victorinox 91mm XAVT/XL/XLT, 111mm Workchamp XL, Wenger/Delemont S54/Tool Chest Plus or Wenger Giant for thirty (30) consecutive days Using EDC items randomly selected with a poker hand, post a photo of your EDC or a component of the EDC that got used during the course of the day for 4 weeks (or 30 consecutive days) Start a new thread and post a photo of the 111mm sak for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the minimal sak (2 layers or fewer) for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate and contribute in Challenge thread and post a photo of either an Axe, MT/Folding knife or Fixed blade (picked at the beginning of challenge) for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate in a Challenge thread and post a photo of a Spyderco knife for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate and contribute in Challenge thread and post a photo of a different blade each day for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of a SAK Soldier for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate in a challenge thread and post a photo of a SAK Cybertool (any variant), Swisschamp, Champion or Toolchest for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of a Fieldmaster SAK for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the discontinued sak/mt for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of a Explorer SAK for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of a fixed blade for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of any gear for thirty (30) consecutive days during the MTo anniversary month. Start a new thread and post a photo of the leatherman (supertool, core, hacks) for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate in the Challenge thread and post a photo of a Flashlight for thirty (30) consecutive days.

Wood sounds good, the only Puukko I have is wooden lined leather (the sheath that is). You could also try something like this:

For that style knife you need to make the real-thing sheath me thinks....... 
My AHTI has a plastic blade protector with the leather molded to that, tapering larger to accept the bottom half of the handle.
I can just imagine a piece of standard electrical conduit heated and flattened a bit is just the deal you're looking for!
