So, how do these rules sound:

1. A traditional folder such as a slipjoint, Opinel, Higokonami, or Douk Douk. The Mercator K55K also counts.

2. If you have any questions about if a knife qualifies, post in the thread and I'll make a ruling.

3. The traditional will be your main cutting tool during the challenge.

4. SAK's and multitools are allowed to go along for the ride, but again, the traditional is your main blade during this.

5. We'll do one thread for the challenge, like I did for the Discontinued challenge.

What do you all think?

I'm gonna say no. If I'm not going to allow the Buck 110, no Patriots or Solos allowed.

Come on Kam, I got the K55K in there specifically for you and me..... ;)

Will we be allowed to change knives during the challenge, as long as it is a traditional?

Absolutely! :tu: Just like my discontinued challenge - if a knife qualifies, carry the sucker! I just posted the challenge, and addes that little bit to it. Forgot it in the OP. :)

My proposal ; surely the GEC Barlow matches traditional but what about the other three?  Top is slipjoint more modern pattern (Lannys Clip) and the Buck Maverick is also a more modern slippie. The Japanese lockback is not traditional enough?

I'll allow the top three, but not the backlock. We're not allowing the Buck 110, and that's just too close to be in.

:D Read the rules. You can carry any SAK you want, but it will NOT count as the knife for the challenge. :P
