I tried to get my wife on board with my walking stick idea.  My suggestion was for us both to go to the river and while I go catch dinner, she stays with the truck in the parking lot and peddles the walking sticks. :D  it didn't do over so well ::)

I really thought it was a good idea. :D. I know my boy would be on board for selling walking sticks, but since he loves fishing as much or maybe more than I do, there's no way he'd miss out on the fishing.

If you want the paracord to shrink, it has to go on wet and you have to pull it tight. It will then shrink as it dries.

Gareth, did you treat the handles of the hatchets before covering them ? Just wondering if i should treat mine (when it arrives), and with what (linseed oil ??) - mine will get wet and wondering if i need to treat it . . . .

Mine came lightly varnished so I've not done anything to it. :)
