How to darken a pocket clip?
on:

So? Any pointers?
I want to make carrying my Spydercos as discreet as possible and big shiny clips riding out of my pocket are not exactly discreet... I generally wear grey, black or purple jeans or black suit pants...
What is the cheapest, easiest way to get this done without staining my pants?
If it can be removed if needed and won't peel off easily it would be extra nice...
I was thinking about black nail polish - bless you goth chicks. What do you say? Any other options?

I've been toying with the idea of using plasti dip for a few projects mainly beacuse you can peel it off. Not sure how it would stand up to heavy wear though.

I looked into this some awhile back, as like you, I just don't care for the Spyderco shiny chromed looking clip.
I didn't see any durable, long lasting methods. Types of paint or what have you always seem to flake off pretty easily after not too long of time.
I ended up picking up a few spares, then having them cerokoted. I found a guy who coats gun parts, and he'd just put them in when he was doing a firearm part, and the charge was pretty minimal since he was just adding them in and they're so small. Gives them a nice flat black coating that so far has help up well for over a year. Still no flakes.
I've also purchased the natural Ti after market ones off the auction site. They're a dull, matte finish, that's not reflective. Some are anodized that has a subtle look too.

Reinforce your pocket liner then sew a button hole in it. Keeps it out of sight. Or heat shrink the clip.

I have used scotch tape on my vic signature lite to keep it from getting scratched while on keychain, works great, just needs to be trimmed....so I would think some black electrical tape properly trimmed would fit nicely on outer portion of clip, or maybe some black duct tape like gorilla tape brand. I would think this is cheapest and most removable method, plastidip would eventually rub off being on both sides of clip.
