My Gerber Dime failed in an entirely new way.

I just checked my MP400, and the blade does hit the handle. (It is only a few months old, bought new.) It is one of the wharncliffe (sp?) blades, so maybe this wasn't an issue when the MP400's had the more regular blade design.  Anyways, how irritating.  Come on, Gerber.  I expect this from China, not US made tools.
