I rarely ever use a multitool while I'm fishing on my boat.. I use specialized fishing tools like Van Staal pliers (very expensive) and Rapala pliers, fillet knives, and the like.. Although, I usually always carry a Spyderco Atlantic Salt or similar knife while on the boat.. I also have a SwissTool RS on the boat too.. As well as a big tool kit I bought from West Marine..

I've just got a knife in my fishin' box - but I don't do a lot of fishing, and never manage to catch anything anyway, so it's not like I need to save rare lures or tie flies.

I used the PST first until the PSTII came out and then switched to the PULSE which I still use today.  I just bought a Vic. Spirit so I am giving it a try.  I have used Multi tools to fish with for as long as they have been around.  The Pulse's scissors and file get alot of use...it's a great fishing tool.  I use a Rapala filet knife to process the fish.

I've gotten to the point I don't even use hooks or bait - just a line and sinker for the look of the thing when I'm out by the water.

I use THIS set, not a MT since they are more expensive so I'd hate to see them rusting or take a swim. I modified the sheath by putting in a neodymium magnet so the tools don't come out till I want them.
