A Skeletool is such a good folder, I don't need another one.

I carry a Pioneer daily and carry a 3 layer SAK in my backpack (Climber). I substitute a Farmer for the Pioneer when I head to the woods. I have owned a couple multi tools but find real tools more useful. I carry pair of Stanley needle nose pliers (with wire cutter) in my pack and a toold kit in the truck of my car.

I'm a pretty big proponent of Tim Leatherman's original sentiment that Multitools are companions to SAKs..... And I pocket carry everything.

I do occasionally carry a folder with a SAK or multi, but generally not all three on my person at the same time. When hiking or camping I pack a multi in the bag, and a folder and a SAK in my pockets.

It's my Leek/Scallion/Delica clipped to my pocket , Rambler in my pocket and whichever Juice I decide to carry goes in my lunch cooler , that's during the week. Weekends will vary.

What about the 'I only carry a SAK (in my pocket)' option?? !!
This is typically my EDC - Although there is usually a pliers based nearby - eg in car, kitchen drawer, sometimes day pack etc

But for pure EDC - if we really mean - what do you carry every single day - I would just declare 'SAK only'
I have an office job - so rarely need pliers - even at weekends - say hiking or bush walking - no pliers needed!

As always in these discussions - It depends and personal circumstances, preferences, needs and wants!
And at MTo it seems often the want exceeds the need!!  >:D  :D

Not intend to trash SAK, but I think they are pointless for someone carrays a full size MT
Yes and no...

Scissors: The scissors on a Charge/Wave and many other MTs are a joke
Awl: The pioneer awl kicks butt, whereas the Wave has no awl
CT-bit-holder: well depending on your MT that is a great addition
T&T
Magnifying glass

So yes, I mostly agree but there are several weaknesses your MT might sport that can easily be addressed by a SAK (or another MT).

Come on Mr. K - Admit it - You are trashing the SAKs - although possibly only if carrying a PB MT  :o
And I do take your point - lots of SAK capabilities are covered by an MT ..... except .......
Good points Mr. E

To which I would add - I really like the convenience of a SAK compared to pliers based
By that I mean size, weight (in pocket) and also importantly - tool deployment - So much easier on a SAK compared to PB MT.

Although this does depend on the MT in question (oho etc), as for the Spirit, which I see you do carry, it is great for deployment of all tools - and that is really good.
In fact I don't really understand why LM and others don't go for the Swisstool design and tool deployment, at least for some of their models!!

Maybe I was, SAK has its place, not everyone is committed to EDC a full size pliers base MT, then SAK is definitely good for them as they are much lighter and smaller. But here is MTO, ...

Option X: None of the above :p

I bag carry Vic Huntsman, pocket carry Midnight Minichamp (AKA NiNiChamp) and bike trunkbag carry LM Skeletool /w Bit Kit (which is my dedicated bike tool anyways). Haven't really found a need for dedicated folder yet.

Yea the weakness of Spirit is its blade, comparing to Wave, so a dedicated folder would be good to team up with Spirit. And I choose to carry the standard Spirit with butler blade to have the serration.

What I carry is different from above survey.

I sheath carry a Victorinox Craftsman, have a Camillus TL-29 (the screwdriver/wire stripper blade is great for prying, scraping, and driving large flat head screws, which are very uncommon these days) or a Stockman pattern knife (it's usually an old Imperial, but I have others that I carry in its place) in my left pocket, and a pair of Proto linesman's pliers (way tougher than any pliers based tool) in my right pocket.  This covers near every need I have--when minor hammering is needed, I just use the linesman's pliers.  Sometimes I also throw in a MiniChamp, as I haven't bought a CyberTool 41 yet, and those tiny little blades are good for jobs the Craftsman or Camillus are too big for, like cutting strings from the brushes of a vacuum cleaner. Another supplement is my Soldier '08, which resides in my farm coat--the partially serrated blade is better for cutting brush and rope.

I always carry a SAK in addition to whatever other knife I may have. Most often a Leatherman Skeletool, mainly for the pliers.
I most often have some larger single bladed knife, often fixed blade, to use in restaurants and such. I hate getting muck in a folder.

My attire determines where I carry them, but the method is always the same, pocket for both.  In my work (office attire) pants, the MT is either clipped to or sitting in my right rear pocket next to my wallet, with the SAK and other goodies in my right front pocket's little change pocket.  In jeans, I can only carry a pocket clipped MT and it has to go on the right front pocket, with the SAK in that 5th pocket (watch pocket some call it I think).  I would carry in the back pocket, but the couple jeans I have seem to have smaller back pockets and don't allow for much other than my wallet.

My traditional setup is folder + SAK in the pocket, with a multi nearby in my bag.
There's no such thing as "Too pretty to carry".  There's only "Too pretty NOT to carry"...... >:D

I also really like the toolset of the craftsman, thinking about picking up a second hand example :climber:

A regular everyday layout for me is a dedicated folder and a SAK in my pockets, with a multi in my bag.

Yes, like some others, my edc is different.
Camping and hiking, I carry most of my SAKs + Swisscard.
So the SAK in my pocket and another in my pack? I voted that option.

In civilisation(town, etc, outside my house), I carry a Swisscard W/O blade.
Blame the laws!

I carry a pocket knife always, without it I'm naked.  :ahhh
The Skeletool CX is the most carried Multitool followed by the Juice S2. The skeletool on a belt loop and the Juice in the sheath.
The modded Charge ALX and rebar ride in the car, when I think they will come in handy.
