Happy STS, y'awl! :woohoo:

As luck would have it, the first oil change yesterday was an Explorer with a cartridge oil filter. Naturally, I put the ST300 to work. The small O-ring seen in the photo can be difficult to remove and replace. The fine screwdriver wedges under it pretty nicely, and the nail hook helps keep hold on it when pulling it off the housing. Pliers make installation of the new one much easier. :tu:

Nice BO 300.  :like:

I agree with the others JonesE!

A very nice looking BO ST300, and it is a CapCrimper model.  I do not recall seeing that style very often on this site.
I now wonder how unique that model may be?

They only made the regular cap crimper for the ST300 for about 6 months or so when they came out with the EOD version and replaced it :salute:

So pretty rare ;) :D

:like: and happy STS to awl! :woohoo:

When I gave the silver ST300 a wash, I couldn't find the old T-shirts I use as rags. So I grabbed a disused set of bed linen and sacrificed a pillow case. I figured that since I burn through rags at an alarming rate, I'd just turn them into rags. That gave me a food opportunity to compare and contrast the ST300's blades. The plain edge trounced the serrated blade. I expected a more even match, not a blowout. The photo is a less than stellar re-creation of the rag making, which was done at work.

Of course, about 30 seconds after the silver ST300 cleaning was done, I remembered where I'd put the old T-shirts.

My 2.5l VW engine had the same setup.  I didn't mind it but that O ring could be frustrating.

I think mainly because the EOD guys are issued mainly MP 600's.  I love those cap crimper models!

Fairly rare but they do come up once in a while.

I'm a few hours late, but I'll post anyway. The black oxide ST300 handled all the usual tasks last week. And on Friday, I was "gifted" this gem of an oil filter. Presumably it was left over from an oil change that second shift personnel did on Thursday.
