Interesting, but seems a little on the pointless side?

I remember reading that one awhile ago. I don't see the need to replace the knife blade. But I do like the idea of a removable diamond file blade.
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

Not necessarily my favorite mod (although a similar file mod on a Pulse might be tempting ;D), but I think he probably wanted to replace the blade so that he could use the now-removable-file to sharpen his knife. A while ago I pondered doing something like that to my KF4, but theres no way (that I know of) do disasemble/reasemble the Juice series tools.

Bit of a necro-thread, I know (9 years!!): It would be very impractical to do this with a Pulse (and also a Super Tool 200, I believe). The Rocker Locks would fall inwards if the file were removed, and you'd have to jiggle them back into place during reassembly.
Having taken a Pulse apart, I can tell you that the Tool-end screws holding it together are fairly unique in that they are "stepped" in diameter. The Rocker Lock inner mechanism rides on the larger of the two diameters. It would get really fiddly in there, with very little space to align everything.

A quick reference pic, stepped ST200 tools pivot post.

So I surmised correctly. Looks like a longer Pulse fastener.
I have both a Pulse and a ST200, but I've never actually taken apart a ST200.
Now, as to *why* they made those fasteners with stepped diameters is anyone's guess, as the tool's could be designed to have non-stepped fasteners just as easily.

The only modification I'll ever make to my early PST II will be to file the notches in the right places to upgrade my scissors to the later version that doesn't jam up on the tough stuff.

Honestly, I don't see the point in any of these. The file will just fall off at the wrong moment, but making the diamond file removable is a good idea, but I hate removable parts on multis--I've lost close to a dozen sets of Vic scale tools over the years.  I have no problems with the serrated blade--in fact, properly sharpened, all serrated blades rip through stuff that plain edge folders struggle with.  Anyway, the PST IIs blade is too small for hard use.  Too bad the guy that did this wrecked a perfectly good Case.

My two second guess is keeping tension on the tools and not the lock release.
