I can not decide if I should order a traditional Kukri from Nepal or a modern Kukri from Cold Steel.
Money is not a factor and I am not a collector.

Had just gotten to sleep, was in major heel & foot pain and took 800mg Ibuprofen an hour before, and had just entered dream state when I heard an email notification. Inner voice suggested I read it.

Received a notification early this morning from KHHI:
Quote from: Shilpa
Greetings! I hope you are doing fine. I am pleased to let you know that your order is now ready but among midst of mail we exchanged I forgot to ask if you wanted the engraving KHHI Nepal to be engraved in both kukris or just the McCurdy?

  Please confirm.

    I replied:

Quote from: Xelkos
Was just for the McCurdy.  I don’t wish to add more work to your workers for both, so just the one knife was all.

Thank you, kind gentlemen, for your hard labors!

Would of asked for both blades but I'm anxious just the same.

Though this could happen with any knife, go Traditional. :salute:

Seen and held a Ka-Bar Kukri, wasn't impressed. Thin blade, no heft. Think it was made to look bad ass was all, which kind of makes one wonder what Ka-Bar was thinking? Had always thought Ka-bar stood for bad ass knives! Ka-Bar ≈ Kill a Bear

I'm willing to bet next month's salary there are 100 broken "traditionals" for every broken Cold Steel.

Let's face it, the CS is a beast, there's enough youtube videos to prove that, strengths, weaknesses warts & all.

I wanted to buy a traditional because I can't afford the Cold Steel.  :pok:

I've got a Cold Steel Kukri Machete and the Lasher from the same factory, and based on using those there's no doubting what an incredible tool a kukri is.

I'm busy with 2 made from leaf spring, but they're going to be on the smaller side

McKnife + coin was $110, then added Scourge (they added brass paper knife) for $147 more -- that's all with shipping.

I checked around for a hand-smithed knife, was in excess of $500. When I saw the McCurry I figured it resembled closest of the style I admired. Almost ordered it almost on sight.
Think I posted on MTO then looked up reviews. Oddly, this one knife was reviewed more in Russia and out-lying areas.

DHL courier was too busy or did not have enough deliveries out this way, so they hired out a 3rd party delivery service. So now I have to miss 2 hours of work waiting for the package to be delivered.
