What in your opinion is the best hard use production knife out there today ???

For my money it's this beasty...

My Cold Steel Gurhka Kukri :)

I very much doubt I could ever break this thing, without resorting to stupid (and probably explosive) means :)

What would your nomination be ???

Miserable buggers. I guess they didn't realise the image was being used to praise their products on an enthusiasts site did they? They could have had free advertising - haha.

I used to come here a lot.

I vote for the Cold Steel Kukri also. Best knife around $20. Ever.

If you don't have one, get one. If you have one, try to wreck it. If you ever manage to you'll want to buy another. :D

my old rk62,now at Bens custody, will survive that,i remember very well when i bought that, the designer of it,Mr.Peltonen hammered the knife into oak-block,and twisted it like that, let loose and slowly it returned back.

All of you people are too expensive. I've never spent more than $25 on an axe/knife. And only $40 on ONE multitool. :(

Can we have a donation drive for me? XD

EDIT: Don't worry about it. It's not like I use these things professionally anyway~

My criteria would have to include afford-ability. Mora's are pretty tough, and affordable. And since they are so affordable, I bet folks actually use them for things you normally wouldn't want to use your more expensive knives for. I am not taking anything away from the expensive knives, in fact I am quite positive they are very durable. But if I'm going to be really hard on a knife, the possibility is there that I will ruin it. So, if I'm possibly going to ruin it, I don't want to have a lot of money into it.

Also, I can buy a couple of Moras and still have enough left over for a proper prybar, hatchet, saw, machete and shovel. Guess my Mora would last a really long time then. :D

It's very, very hard to argue against the humble Mora :)

Everyone should have at least one :)

I agree with the Mora but I disagree with the "hard use" part. They're really not constructed for it, if you've ever taken the birch handle ones apart they aren't that secure. And the plastic ones...

They're plastic.

But yes, everyone should keep a Mora for light tasks. :D
