Never Ever Do This At Home...
on: May 04, 2016, 12:46:26 PM
So this past week we got 3 new free to air TV channels, and I noticed one of them has a show called "Never Ever Do This At Home" which I caught a bit of... thinking Grant and I missed out on an opportunity:

It's a great show.  The hosts find a house that is going to be demolished, then do all of the things you see on TV that comes with the warning DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME to see what would happen.

It's an awesome show- kind of like the Mythbusters, but with really no rhyme or reason to what they do.

sheds a little light on it... one of the hosts is from You can't do that on television  :tu:

Why am I not surprised it's a Canadian show...

I loathe regional blocking. Face it, the internet is global, it's about sharing info.

A local was on that show a few years back. She was so bad, they took her driving liscence away from her. She got it back I think after going to court.   :o

I love the one year that idiot kid was bragging on camera about all the illegal stuff he did, and the retired OPP officer on the panel had him arrested and they used the footage as a confession.

Duh.

I have seen some episodes. It is OK. There are some scientific issues with their explanations, but, if you do not overthink it, then it is fun to watch.

Kelly: "Daddy, what makes men cheat on women?
Al : "Women!"

I guess they ran out and are now playing what is apparently the original Norwegian series:

Ikke gjør dette hjemme

Actually funny cause I'm watching it in original version instead of Spanish dubbed

So... how many of those have you done?

Spray can in fire - Is there anyone who hasn't done this?
Fireworks indoors - Does accidentally setting of home made black-powder count?
Walk in microwave - As much fun as I had with microwaves, I have never ever modified one (unless setting one on fire counts).
Can on a stove - Come on, everybody has put a can in a fire. And it works, just make a hole in the lid (and remove the label). Like that it would also work on a gas stove of course without stirring you will have half cold half burnt beans but that is what you were going for to begin with anyway, right?
Propane can in fire - That is the natural evolution from the spray can in a fire...

This is why I hate recycling (not really, recycling is a good thing). When I was a kid we had a huge container across the street where people would dump anything, I have salvaged and re-sold bikes, stereos, skis and more from there, but there were also more unsavory things ::).
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.
