So which one is it?  Not at all, or annoying?  Annoying means bothering!

I just got my used Surge this week. I didn't notice the rattle till I saw this thread...must still be in the honeymoon period.

BTW - this tool is dated "0505", so it's had plenty of time to loosen up...

Mine doesent bother me at all.

When do your guys' rattle anyway?

I only noticed that the lock on mine rattles when I open or close it. That scared me until I figured out that it was the lock, then I just rolled with the punches.

What rattles on it? Is it the blade exchanger? Loose tools? Enquiring minds want to know!

The only rattling I can get out of mine (with considerable effort even) is with it all closed up - the pliers kind of tap the inside when they're all folded up and I'm shaking it like a Polaroid picture. Although, it's nothing at all to get excited about on mine. Once I open up the pliers, they're nice and tight!

I have'nt noticed mine rattling, but it won't close smoothly without me fiddling with the plier jaws, that's a little annoying.

Probably due to all the gunk and pocket lint.  :D

from everyone I read who has one and it "rattles" they say it doesn't effect it's performance.

besides it's a monster, and monsters should make noise! :ahhh
judge others by how they treat those they are allowed to mistreat

Hey,

Just received my new Surge. Dang, what a sweet MT!! Having horses & Harleys, I'm always grabbing for my trusty Wave but now will have it's big brother to handle the day to day chores. Nice heavy duty scissors too.
Sorry but this one is rattless. Is that a word? Oh yeah!

Mike

You'll love the SURGE, blades not much on holding an edge but very very easy to sharpen. Once sharpened it on a slightly smooth surfaced rock.
