Can't open Raptor
on: July 17, 2016, 08:44:19 PM
Just got a leatherman raptor.  I can open the handle on the side with the release button but then it stops and won't let me continue to open and rotate the other handle in the open position.  Is there some sort of safety or release button I need to press or should I just open freely (i.e. Do I have a defective product)?

You don't ned to press anything to open it. WHen you close it, you have to press the button on both sides.
My Raptor was fixed by warranty once, and it has more issues now, and I think this might be the problem with your tool also.
On the handle with the lanyard hole, the blade can overturn the stopping part of the handle. Overturn over it, then you have to get the blade back over it to the right side.
Remember that the blades are completely shut if the tool is open OR closed.

Tip:
When you open Raptor, always turn clockwise, when you close it always turn anti clockwise.

Sorry your Raptor has problems. The one I have works like its suppose to. Might need to contact the warranty department and see what they recommend.
What? Enablers! Are you serrrrious? Where? I dont see any.
