No, no, no.  That's batman.  Arch-enemy of the Joker.

You know those perfect little circles of scrap around the trash can, they're no where near circles.

Ergo, this whole thing is a joke.

Agreed. Still, there were other hints that would lead to find what the not circular scraps were pointing to.

It doesn't matter what any of us say because future Zoidberg is just going to tell present Zoidberg what the right answers are so he (present Zoidberg) wins.

I wouldn't be surprised if etherealicer isn't future Zoidberg too.

The prized knife was taken by the pack rat and replaced with tiny sized bits of paper, which was lost in the struggle and fell into the waste paper basket. A ninja came in from the above ceiling, removed a tiles, and tried to assassinate the victim with a ninja throwing star. But the victim got a shot off and the ninja star glanced off the gun and got stuck in the door. Sadly the investigator didn't look up at the ceiling nor up inside to look for blood splatter. In a few weeks there was a bad smell but no one figured it out, as it was the ninja in the ceiling that slowly bled to death in the duct way - and thus remains the killer. Probably a small medium at large.

During the commotion, a girl rushes in and stabs the victim with a broom stick. She wiped it down and stuck in the janitor's closet, and she went scurrying down the hallyway saying she wasn't bad, she was just drawn that way, and pocketed the victim's watch & wallet - and a small wooden spoon that no one saw sitting on the table - because it wasn't there in the sketching.

The only thing I figured out was which way north is and then what time of day it is.  That has only made it more Confusing as to who the killer is.

What got stolen

Well, it all revolves about "WHAT IS MISSING", but first lets, have a look at what is there.
- Papers that have been stapeled
- Papers that have been punched
- Paper confetti around the trashcan
So, what exactly is missing?
- Stapler and Puncher, here is an office without a stapler or a puncher

Now, if this was the forum at officesuplies.org that would not be very helpful, but, this is MT.O AND we have more clues
- The punched holes are not tidy at all
- Etherealicer loves his SAKs, especially the ridiculous ones

So, the question is: "Is there a MT, that works as a stapler and puncher. Although using the word 'works' is a bit of a stretch"

Of course there is:

The story of the Murder Weapon and the Murderer

So, the intruder was behind the desk, admiring the sunset or whatever thiefs and murderes do when the murder victim walks in on him

Quote from: Etherealicer
As you can see, the victim was stabbed right next to the door. We believe he surprised the intruder.

Both react quickly, the victim pulls out his gun and aims at the intruder and at the same time dodges the throwing star that the intruder hurls at him. His shot goes wide and kills the clock (what a lucky coincidence, that gives us the exact time of the murder).
The intruder quickly closes the distance before the victim can take a second shot. He grabs whatever was closest.

The Murder Weapon
Let's look at the clues

- The intruder was behind the desk, that is why the clock got hit
- The intruder then proceeded to attack the victim, grabbing whatever weapon was closest by. Statistically speaking, more people are right handed, so we can assume that the murder weapon was grabbed from the small shelf in the back.
- There is an assault rifle (identified as StGw 90 on that shelf)
- There is a Wenger box on the ground (white box with "red" corners)
- This is MT.O
- The Murder Weapon has grown 6mm, (To my knowledge is the only SAK that has been changed from 85mm to 91mm when Victorinox took over Wenger and not just re-named but re-engineered)
- Etherealicer loves his SAKs :D

All that points to

considering how convoluted this theory is, I'd wager the killer gets off without a scratch. Ether my man, you're a great riddle master and a defense attorney's wet dream because no jury would be convinced beyond reasonable doubt

That leaves us with the murderer

Obviously we first need the exact time of the murder or else we cannot make any sense of the security cam images.

- The broken clock reads 16 past 6
- We can see the sun in the window
- The compass on the desks points towards the viewer, making the windows orientation west

Time of the murder: 18:16 (6:16PM)

The date format on the security cam is a bit odd, but we know it was May and 1929 is too much in the past for the computer so 29 must be the day

Date of the murder: 29th May 2006

We don't really need the date but its a happy coincidence that the the murder took place at the exact time of Grants first post on this forum, giving him the perfect alibi.

Of course because the murder took place in the early evening, we can disregard the two security cam images from the morning.

Let's look at the clues
- Janitor and Old Lady were there at the wrong time of the day
- The young couple walks towards the exit BEFORE the murder
- No-one is visible on the security cam AFTER the murder
- The date format YY/MM/DD is used in only a few countries most prominently in Japan
- The intruder hurled a throwing-star

Groan, of course it is a
Ninja
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.
