As usual, I have no connection.  No recommendation.  Strictly information.

c******3 is moi  :D I dropped $87 on the same day as c******o, instantly crushed . I tell ya, this thread provided information, but also drew more attention to that listing. No more fooling around for me, I am out.  :salute:

I am surprised goodwill did not list this on eBay. Sheer ignorance or they just want to save, potentially, a few hundred bucks in fee?

I posted it, but I'm not bidding.

That person has deeper pockets than me; I keep getting outbid.

Just under an hour left!  The current bid is $241.

$251; I just got outbid; I'm making him pay closer to fair price, though; it should be going for $500+ easily. :/

I jumped back in with a $385 bid  :D Someone beat me at the last second. Goodwill auction system sucks, as you have to provide password to finalize each bid. Can people snipe at this kind of low-tech auction?

The winner probably threw in a bid over $500 any way, so  :salute: Whoever he is, he got one hell of a deal!

Well I'm glad you gave the person a run for their money.  Had I won, I would've sent it to a good person up north, who would have treated it well. :)

Goodwill made quite a few mistakes with this listing. If I did not bid, the item could have been had for $325:
- Website: should have been eBay :twak:
- Item description: Goodwill obviously had no clue what they had at hand. Then again, there are stories of people bought valuable paintings at Goodwill for pennies.
- Time: 5:45 PM PT is just bad timing  ???. East coast people are having dinner, while west coast ones are sitting in traffic.

Personally, I was hesitate to go pass the $400 mark  :P. The item is cool and rare, but if I break it down, it is the same as my $50 PST, minus the cool engraving, gold plating, and frame.

Like said above, had it been on Ebay and listed correctly it would have went for way higher I think

If you didn't need a US address to bid it would have gone higher - I can personally guarantee that :D

No secret.  I stumbled onto the site a few years back.  I bought my first Plierench set there.  I've run across several other multi tool rarities on the site.
I monitor it regularly for interesting items.  In my search for the elusive Eifel plierench geared pivot pliers I continue to turn over a lot of rocks.

Sometimes the postage and handling is really out of line, but you can often get good deals.
