Math.

Oh, I'm rubbish at it, but I sat behind a girl with the hottest visible bra strap a teenager could hope for.

In all seriousness though kids, either History, Science, or Tech.

Computer Drafting.

Of the "normal" subjects I'd have to say science.

all the tech classes... Computer science, Electronics, Wood shop, Drafting, Graphics etc...

Those are the ones that I actually enjoyed...

The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.

Recess!

Beat me to it   :pok:

#2 - LUNCH - We had an all male senior's cooking class ( 1962 ) and on Fridays it was scheduled during noon time, so we would make pizzas, hot subs, etc and take them out to eat on the quad and drink beer which we brought in thermos jugs in metal lunch pails. The pails were filled with flowers or poupurrie to kill the odor and then we would eat 1/2 a box of breath mints and not talk to anyone all afternoon.  Never got caught.

When I started high school off-campus lunches were not allowed anymore, so that really sucked.

But lemme tell you, if we wanted a burger from the deli, somehow we always got one!!!!! >:D

The treasure I found in school was English literature. Shakespeare,Tennyson, Dickens, Longfellow, Mark Twain, O'Henry, and many others. Even authors like Conrad and Nabokov wrote their best works in English, though not their native language.

English is a cobbled together language from several Teutonic and Norse languages, with a bit of French and Latin thrown in. Richard the Lion Heart and The Conqueror probably could not speak it. I think Richard the third did though. There gradually arose in the English speaking population concepts of freedom of thought and action that energized the nation and was reflected in the literature, making it an asset for the world.

It was these concepts I believe that led the English speaking people to conquer the world. That has nothing to do with race or nationality, but simply those of whatever nation that speak English also take in with it, at least in part, English culture and belief, giving them an advantage over their fellows. A good part of that culture stems from English literature.

I was surprised to see History as a favorite subject. Henry Ford said "History is Bunk". As it was taught in my schools I agree with him. Anyway that's my view.
