Twiglet - never apologise. Ever.

Anyone know how many units we have, or should we go with the 'G-Unit' model for newbies? Might make it easier to remember who's who.

If Z Man were still here, he would just award you with a little scolding, not naughty bench scolding, just a mild verbal thrashing.  :D

G-Unit, to request a badge, go to your profile, click on 'awards' (black toolbar under the advert), then 'show available awards'. When you've found the award to want, click on the 'request award' icon on the far right of the screen (hand holding an award. Then a Mod will come along and award you your badge.

If we go with numbers, we'll have to keep tally. If we go with nicknames we can make them up as we go. You are the Royal Unit, so there's a nickname right there! As Unit 2, I'd much rather be called 'Mega-Unit' or 'Cool-Unit', something like that, I'll leave it up to you guys.......

Also Mac, you more than qualify for the Swiss Army Knights banner, that's up on one of the sticky threads, complete with instructions and oath, if you're interested.  :salute:

Thanks for the tip!
Never thought someone would suggest me being knighted in my life.
But to be honest, "Sir" had a nice ring to it!

I look to be joining up, or at least starting the process.  I have stopped carrying Leathermans on me daily due to lack of use out of them.

So for some time now one of my 2 Kershaw knives were in my pocket daily.  Well, at work at Toyota plant in Georgetown, KY the other day, I whipped out my Kershaw to cut the flaps off of a box and the Assistant Manager that was talking to my team leader kinda wigged out.

I actually work for Toyota Logistics Services, and we are located at the end of the shipping lines.  At TLS, we are allowed to have pocket knives, but apparently over at the plant they are not allowed to have them AT ALL.

So I made the decision to switch to one of my SAKs so as not to look as threatening.  LOL

I love the look of those ALOX beauties, so I bought a Wenger SI, with the loop at the end. Will teach myself how to make a Paracord lanyard and that will be my EDC from now on.  Less chance of getting into trouble at work!!!  Haha!!!

My Kershaw...

One of my current SAKs...

And finally, the Wenger I have coming...

I also bought a sheath incase I decide to belt carry and a Victorinox sharpener...

It is crazy that you can't have a knife in that one factory :-\ People are scared of a tool because some other idiot tells them it is dangerous  Well at least the SAK makes it seem more acceptable and I hope you have many good carries and memories with the SI :tu: :like: :like:

I know!  I was told once, that we were allowed a blade length of 1.5".

I break that rule frequently!  LOL. I've never been called out on it though.

Sigh, I know what you mean. Here in Holland we are allowed to carry a folder of 29cm total length but when you pull out a SAK people are like "he's got a KNIFE".
I think somewhere down the line we forgot that a knife is just a tool. We're at the point that we're scared of 6cm long blades but have a drawer with steak knives at home.
I understand there are certain areas were local law forbids carrying of knives. But we lost it somewhere.

At work is a simple rule; weapons are forbidden. So I don't carry a weapon. I carry a pocket knife. It's merely a tool. It opens envelopes, tightens screws and keeps me out of trouble  ;)
